Responsible for trials of BH MKI and Thunderbird trials at Woomera. 1957 - 60.

8 JSTU Farwell dinner, Woomera, South Australia. O.C. 8 JSTU was Wing Commander Adderley. The images that follow are of the menu and notes used by St. John-Brooks for his address at the dinner. The original document is held by the British Aero Museum at Kemble and reproduced here with the kind permission of Peter Cornall. Can you identify any of the signatures?

The role of 15 and 17 JSTU has been provided by Len Wood

15 JSTU
Started at BAC Filton and then moved out to Woomera to carry out Bloodhound test firings.

17 JSTU
Started at RAF Wythenshaw and then split into 2 parts, one at Ferranti Wythenshaw the others at BAC Filton. They joined together at RAF Northcoates in Feb 1962 where they carried out trials until 1966. Most of the expertise for 25 Sqdn at Northcoates; 112 Sqdn Woodall Spa; 33 Sqdn Butterworth & 65 Sqdn Seletar came from these JSTU's.
